Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role providing speech-language pathology services within a hospital setting. Work under the general supervision of the therapy manager and play a key part in supporting adults with communication and swallowing challenges. The position is offered as a 13-week assignment, with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
Schedule:
Wednesday through Saturday 10-hour shifts, 7:45am - 6:15pm (start time negotiable)
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology (master's preferred) Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Prior experience in inpatient rehab, adult acute care, and adult assessments (including bedside swallow or BIM assessments) highly preferred Skilled in documentation and record-keeping Demonstrated self-starter with excellent communication skills Experience with Cerner and Epic electronic medical records systems is a plus
Responsibilities:
Implement treatment programs for adult patients, focusing on communication and swallowing disorders Assess, diagnose, and develop care plans for individuals with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing deficits Provide bedside swallowing evaluations and BIM assessments as required Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care Accurately document patient evaluation, treatment, and progress using EMR systems Educate patients and family members, offering guidance to maximize recovery This contract is ideal for compassionate and motivated speech-language pathologists looking to make a significant impact in a hospital environment.
