JOB DESCRIPTION
Upper Valley Special Education is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in developing communication skills across school settings. The SLPA will work with students from preschool through grade 12 and provide therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. This position serves multiple school districts within the Upper Valley Special Education Unit, including locations such as Minto and Park River, and may require some travel between buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide speech and language therapy services to students in individual and small group settings under the direction of a supervising SLP Implement therapy plans and interventions designed by the supervising SLP Collect and record data on student progress toward IEP goals Assist in preparing therapy materials and maintaining service documentation Conduct speech and language screenings using established protocols (without interpretation) Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and the supervising SLP to support student needs Assist with scheduling and organization of therapy sessions Travel between school buildings as needed
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license/certification (or ability to obtain) Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while under the supervision of a licensed
SLP Contract, Salary, and Benefits:
187-day contract Work hours follow the school schedule of the building assigned Salary is based on 75% of the teacher salary schedule, determined by years of experience Full benefits available for full-time employees Position follows the school calendars Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate for travel between buildings

JOB DESCRIPTION
Special Education Strategist is one who is credentialed in the areas of learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, and intellectual disabilities. This person is able to case manage and provide services for students of these categories.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide services to students in individual, small group, or classroom settings. Provide consultative services to regular educators and building-level support teams. Consultation may include assisting in modifying the curriculum and adapting materials. Participate in the identification process of special education students by serving on a multidisciplinary team in accordance with federal and state procedural guidelines. Develop Individual Education Plans for students with disabilities to include parent contact, scheduling and facilitating meetings, and completion of all paperwork as required according to federal and state procedural guidelines. The case manager is responsible for monitoring IEP compliance. Keep special education files current and filed in the school and UVSE offices. A working file in the special education classroom is allowable. Maintain a record of progress toward goals and objectives. This includes charting. Provide on-site training and oversee paraeducators in accordance with the recommended procedures from DPI. Follow current procedures specific to the UVSE unit. Attend meetings as determined by the Director of Special Education. Other such duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education. Communicate with outside agencies.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Serve as a liaison on behalf of students on issues related to medication, outside therapies, juvenile court matters, and other needs as deemed necessary to promote student success in educational and community settings. Manage specific health care needs. Arrange job training programs within the community or the school to include identifying job sites and arranging job coaching when applicable.
