Job Description

Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding and impactful contract opportunity supporting a Kindergarten student as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school-based setting. This full-time role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with autism and utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
Key Attributes and Experience Needed:
Valid licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Prior experience working in school settings, specifically elementary level, is highly valued Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and supportive communication strategies Experience using and implementing AAC devices in therapy sessions Strong collaboration and communication skills to liaise with educators, caregivers, and therapists Ability to adapt to the unique needs and strengths of individual students Commitment to deliver services with compassion, consistency, and professionalism
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 speech and language support to a Kindergarten student with autism Facilitate effective use of an AAC device to enhance the student's communication Document progress and assist in developing and adapting communication goals Participate in meetings with other professionals and family members to discuss student progress Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student engagement and growth Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all student interactions Enjoy working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, beginning as soon as possible through June 18, 2026.
