POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Communication Sciences and Disorders Faculty Mount Vernon Nazarene University exists to shape lives through educating the whole person and cultivating Christ-likeness for lifelong learning and service. Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) is an intentionally Christian teaching university for traditional age students, graduate students, and working adults who seek opportunities to learn and grow in an academic community of faith. Mount Vernon Nazarene University seeks a full-time (9-month) Communication Sciences and Disorders Faculty Member for its Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program on the Mount Vernon main campus, beginning the Fall semester of 2026. Rank is open. Compensation is competitive among the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Responsibilities and expectations for this position include: Teach courses in the traditional undergraduate CSD program Oversee and manage the day-to
  • day operations of Hunter Hall Speech and Hearing clinic as Clinic Coordinator Provide clinical instruction such as but not limited to direct supervision of therapy sessions, scheduling and conducting weekly meetings with student clinicians, semester start-up preparation and wrap-up tasks, reviewing and providing feedback on lesson plans and clinical reports Advise students majoring in CSD, ensuring their academic progress meets requirements set by the institution.
and work with students to encourage professional development Support departmental efforts for continuous improvement of programs Serve the University through committee participation Qualifications for the successful candidate: Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience, and mission fit Personal commitment to Jesus Christ Understanding and alignment of the heritage, doctrine, and practices of the Church of the Nazarene Doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field highly preferred or willingness to pursue a doctoral degree Minimum of Master's in Speech-Language Pathology required Active license in Speech-Language Pathology from the Ohio Board of Speech-language Pathology and Audiology Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Minimum of two years of clinical experience post master's degree; supervisory experience preferred Evidence of scholarly potential and commitment to quality academic instruction within higher education Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated organizational skills Proven ability to work collaboratively with others Desire to help students succeed in the university setting with strong connectivity to college student needs In a continuing effort to enrich its academic environment and provide equal educational and employment opportunities, the university actively encourages applications from members of all ethnic groups underrepresented in higher education.
