Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A school-based occupational therapist is needed to support secondary-level students (middle and high school) on a part-time contract basis in the Harrisburg, PA area. This role involves managing a secondary caseload with an average commitment of 14-18 hours per week, with schedule flexibility based on caseload and practitioner availability. The position will begin as early as March 2nd and continue through the end of the current school year on June 5, 2026. There is potential for extension into the 2026-2027 school year depending on the needs of the district and the practitioner's fit.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing occupational therapy services to middle and high school students in a school setting Managing caseloads effectively, typically spending about one day per week at each secondary school to support student needs Completing all necessary documentation and paperwork promptly and accurately Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Monitoring and adjusting therapy goals based on student progress Desired qualifications and experience: Licensed or certified occupational therapist with experience in school-based settings Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with school personnel Previous experience working with secondary school populations preferred Familiarity with educational regulations and documentation requirements for school therapy services is essential Flexibility to adapt schedule based on caseload fluctuations This part-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student development and learning within a supportive school environment.
