Virtual Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A)Full-Time | Remote | Florida School District | August-December 2026 (Maternity Leave Coverage) A Florida school district is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) to provide virtual speech-language services to students during a full-time maternity leave coverage assignment from August through December 2026. This position offers the opportunity to support students in a school-based setting while working collaboratively with a supervising Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and educational team. Position Overview The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) will provide speech-language therapy services through a district-approved virtual service delivery model under the supervision of a Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and in accordance with all applicable Florida laws, regulations, district policies, and telepractice requirements. The supervising SLP retains responsibility for evaluation, treatment planning, clinical decision-making, and oversight of services provided by the SLP-A. Assignment Details Full-time maternity leave coverage August-December 2026 Fully remote service delivery model School-based setting Supportive district and clinical team Competitive compensation Requirements Responsibilities Provide speech-language therapy services as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP Collect therapy data and document student progress Maintain service records and session documentation in accordance with district requirements Prepare therapy materials and support student engagement during virtual sessions Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff as directed by the supervising SLP Participate in team meetings, supervision activities, and professional development opportunities Follow all FERPA, confidentiality, and district technology requirements Minimum Qualifications Active Florida Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) license Experience working with school-aged children preferred Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills Reliable high-speed internet connection and professional remote workspace Ability to pass all required district background screenings Compliance & Supervision This position is structured to comply with Florida Board requirements for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants.
The SLP-A will:
Work under the supervision of a Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Provide services only as directed by the supervising SLP Receive supervision in accordance with Florida requirements and district-approved supervision protocols Not independently evaluate students, determine eligibility, diagnose disorders, develop treatment plans, modify treatment plans, or make clinical decisions reserved for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists Participate in required supervision, consultation, and documentation activities Important Notice Services will be delivered through a district-approved virtual service model and are contingent upon compliance with all applicable Florida licensure, supervision, and telepractice requirements.
