Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school setting located in Cleveland, TX. This role involves supporting licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech and language therapy services to students, helping them improve communication skills essential for academic success and social interaction.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist Providing direct speech and language therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders Monitoring and documenting student progress and reporting observations to the supervising pathologist Preparing materials and setting up therapy activities to maximize student engagement Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student progress Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards and school policies Qualifications and desired experience: Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with current state licensure or eligibility Experience working in a school environment preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children and educational teams Ability to follow individualized therapy plans and maintain detailed records Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students Benefits of this contract position include gaining valuable experience in a school environment and the opportunity to work closely with licensed professionals in speech therapy.
