Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Grayson County SSA. In this full-time role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders. Your contributions will be vital in helping clients achieve their communication goals and improve their overall quality of life. Responsibilities Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in implementing treatment plans for clients with speech and language disorders. Conduct therapy sessions as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, focusing on enhancing communication skills. Monitor and document client progress, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the supervising therapist. Prepare materials and resources for therapy sessions, ensuring that they are engaging and effective. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and educators to provide comprehensive support for clients. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and agency policies. Assist in the assessment process by gathering relevant information and providing support during evaluations. Foster a positive and encouraging environment for clients and their families, promoting open communication and collaboration. Requirements Associate's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field. Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification. Previous experience in a clinical or educational setting preferred but not required. Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficient in using technology and software for documentation and communication purposes. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field. CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
