Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Desoto, TX BlazerJobs - 3.4 DeSoto, TX Job Details Contract 12 hours ago Qualifications SLPA License Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. This contract position provides an excellent opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work closely with students and educators in a supportive environment. Assignments may be at one or two school sites, with a range of elementary and high school options. The district is known for its welcoming atmosphere, manageable travel between campuses, and flexibility—allowing you to shape your own schedule within the school hours.
Key Qualifications:
Valid SLPA license issued by the state of Texas Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required Strong organizational skills, including keeping an accurate weekly timelog for administrative approval Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering a nurturing and productive educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Delivering direct speech and language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP Maintaining documentation and progress notes in compliance with district guidelines Collaborating with educators and other staff to support students' individual education plans Managing caseload efficiently within a 37.5-hour workweek Adhering to district procedures, including reporting attendance and submitting weekly timelogs Flexibility to work at one or two nearby campuses, with limited travel within the district A friendly team, positive student engagement, and the chance to independently manage your schedule within a concise geographic area make this a rewarding position.
