JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a full-time SLPA who participates in the treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices of Speech-Language Pathology. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and our company's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited speech/language pathology program.
- We are open to new graduates needing hours to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year of speech/language pathology clinical experience.
- Current, valid professional license to practice in Texas.
- Demonstrates an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
- Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills.

PHYSICAL RESOURCES
Good visual acuity, ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 50 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement; Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to temperature, texture, size and shape.JOB DUTIES
Patient Care- Provide direct patient treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation including progress notes, education forms and monthly summaries.
- Implement individual programs and educate patients, family and ancillary personnel in specific procedure, equipment utilization and home programs.
- Determine appropriateness of patient's response to treatment and consult with physician concerning modification to plan of care.
- Assure all re-evaluations for continuation of care are completed timely to ensure everything possible is completed to prevent a break in service for the patient.
- Interact with all patients, families, customers, visitors, and fellow employees in a mature, responsible, courteous manner to ensure a positive and professional environment. Care Coordination
- Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment, patient appointments with other professionals, and other departmental responsibilities.
- Maintain visit frequency for each patient on caseload to ensure plan of care compliance is met on a monthly basis. Organize patient coverage to meet plan of care compliance measures during vacations, illness, or other scheduling conflicts that could result in a break in patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, patients, family and other members of health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning.
- Attend case conference meetings and interdisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress and future needs with other professionals involved in care of the patient.
