Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Here's an exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) ready to make a difference in a dynamic educational setting. Step into a contract position at a year-round special education day school, supporting students and collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals. You'll work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:45 AM to 2:30 PM, with the chance to build meaningful connections and see consistent growth in students throughout the full school year—starting as soon as possible and running through June 2027.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active SLPA license issued by the state of Virginia Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families Enthusiasm for working in a special education environment Commitment to ongoing professional development
Responsibilities:
Support implementation of student IEP goals under the supervision of an SLP Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students Use evidence-based strategies and materials to engage and motivate learners Document services provided and progress toward goals with accuracy Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional trainings Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning atmosphere Experience the rewards of long-term, consistent engagement with students and staff, allowing you to see the progress you help foster throughout the academic year.
