Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school setting near Williamsburg, VA. This role offers the chance to work with either elementary or middle school caseloads, providing essential services and collaborating with a skilled team of professionals. Supervision and mentorship are readily available, fostering ongoing professional growth.
Desired Qualifications:
Current SLPA license or eligibility in Virginia Previous experience in a school environment preferred Strong communication and organizational abilities Comfort managing a caseload of approximately 55 students Adaptability to serve elementary or middle school students, as assigned Collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working with students, families, and staff
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language interventions to students under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and document student progress Assist with screenings, assessments, and classroom-based activities as needed Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and school teams regarding student goals and progress Maintain records in accordance with district guidelines and state requirements Participate in ongoing supervision and professional development opportunities This position offers the chance to work with a manageable caseload, ensuring meaningful interactions with each student and room for individualized support.
