Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students' communication development in a vibrant school setting near Yorktown, VA. As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), you will play a vital role in fostering speech and language growth for elementary or middle school learners. Supervision by an experienced SLP is available, providing valuable guidance and mentorship throughout your assignment. In this dynamic environment, you'll work with caseloads typically around 55 students, making a significant impact through high-quality, individualized support. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the school sector while working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other specialists.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Virginia Experience working with school-aged children preferred Familiarity with elementary and/or middle school populations Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work effectively both independently and under the supervision of an
SLP Key Responsibilities:
Implement therapy activities and treatment plans as directed by supervising SLP Assist in conducting screenings and informal assessments Document student progress and maintain accurate records Collaborate closely with teachers and other school personnel to support IEP goals Engage families and caregivers to ensure generalization of communication skills Contribute to team meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as requested
