Salary:
$25.15 - $32.31 per hour (educational incentive available in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Current Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant Certificate Effective oral and written communication in the English language, including correct grammar and spelling usage Background check through Washington State Patrol, as required by
RCW 43.43.830.
Applicable fees paid by applicant Capable of lifting ~ 40lbs ~ 5% of the time, ~ 40% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking and ~ 55% of the time working from a sitting position Skill to appropriately physically restrain students as necessary; Knowledge and experience with technology Knowledge of behavioral disabilities in children and instructional methods Knowledge and experience in school based student assistance programs Work efficiently and effectively Produce work that is accurate, neat and thorough Be reliable, trustworthy and require minimal supervision Interact and communicate with others in a respectful, courteous and cooperative manner; Maintain adaptability by being positive, versatile and flexible Support school rules and District policies and procedure
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Successful experience as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. Strong and well-balanced academic background with public school experience. Bi-literate in Spanish. Interest in and experience with extra-curricular and co-curricular coaching and/or advising assignments.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Speech Language Pathologist by: Assisting with screening and assessments by using protocols developed by the Speech Language Pathologist Providing treatment assistance to students under the supervision of the Speech Language Pathologist by following and implementing documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the Speech Language Pathologist Documenting student progress toward meeting established objectives by clerically reporting and providing information regarding student progress to the Speech Language Pathologist Support the educational environment and processes by: Acting as a positive role model for students and demonstrating appropriate behaviors Creating an atmosphere where students have opportunities to exercise power of choice and take responsibility for their behavior Supervising students at all times, in all areas of the school premises; administering discipline according to building handbooks; and instructing students in appropriate conflict resolution Being available to participate in staff meetings and trainings outside the normal work schedule Support the learning environment by: Monitoring student progress Communicate with parents as assigned participating with the Speech Language Pathologist in parent/teacher/student conferences as requested Providing general clerical assistance such as ordering and duplicating materials, completing official documents, testing and recording student scores Assist Speech Language Pathologist in planning and adapting of materials and activities and delivery of instruction to students Support student learning by: Providing instructional support individually or in small focused groups Providing occupational and physical support to students with physical and emotional challenges that require more assistance to enhance their ability to learn Acknowledge and demonstrate the importance of safety by maintaining a safe and orderly working environment and following safe work practices Protect the District by keeping information confidential Maintain knowledge by attending educational trainings Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed or requested Other duties as assigned.
