Speech Language Pathologist(s) & building principal SUMMARY This position is responsible for screening students; implementing appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student success; assisting with prevention programs in the classroom; helping students meet performance standards; providing appropriate services to students on IEPs; provides administrative support to certified Speech Language Pathologist(s)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologist to discuss and/or develop individual treatment programs; assist the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation; assist in the therapy provided to clients Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP and document student performance and report this information to the supervising SLP. Consult with teachers, special education paraprofessionals, and parents to gain information and communication as needed to implement school-based interventions. Self-identify as SLPA to families, students, staff, and others. This may be done verbally, in writing, and/or with titles on name badges. Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records to document activities, provide reliable information, and comply with District, state, and federal requirements. Processes documents and materials (e.g. screening, progress reports, signatures pages, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties. Compiles comprehensive records for the purpose of complying with administrative requirements. Assist in managing and scheduling appointments; create documents, e-mails, and letters to staff and parents; respond to phone calls from parents and staff; provide administrative support to assigned SLP(s). Provide information to emergency response agencies for individuals who have communication and/or swallowing disorders. Exhibit compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations and SLPAs' responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising SLP or the Building Principal Travel throughout the district with a district vehicle to service minutes to all clients and correspond with the supervising SLP Plan and maintain a schedule based on clients' needs for minutes Fulfil the services needed for each client with the supervision of the
SLP QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Associate degree from an accredited SLPA program, required 1-3 years' experience, preferred
Computer Skills:
Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, etc. Operating knowledge of and experience with office productivity programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, etc. Operating knowledge of district information technology systems and department-specific software and equipment required within 3 months after entering position

Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance expectations and to follow district procedures for absence reporting Ability to promote and follow Board of Trustees policies, District policies, and building and department procedures Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe
