Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our team at SF Pediatric Dentistry. Our office is relatively small, with 15 to 20 patients/day. As an RDA and Sterilization Tech, you would eventually be responsible for one column of patients. We need someone for the position that is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and occasional Mondays and Thursdays. As Sterilization Technician you will organize and maintain dental instruments in working areas in strict accordance with sterilization/disinfection protocols. You will also perform as a circulating assistant in chair-side dental procedures. You will perform limited dentistry procedures, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials. Responsibilities Welcome families to the dental office Prepare patients for their treatment or checkup Do coronal polish, fluoride varnish, and take X-rays Provide oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions Set up instruments and equipment Sterilize instruments and rooms after each patient Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records through our all-digital patient management software Occasional front office duties including checking out families and taking payment, or answering the phone if necessary Maintaining the instruments and working areas in strict accordance with sterilization/ disinfection protocols Taking inventory, stocking all supplies, instruments and medications Performing required laboratory procedures, i.e., pouring plaster models, etc Break down, clean and set up operatories as needed Skills Experience as a pediatric dental assistant preferred Friendly and positive attitude Excellent communication and people skills Coronal polish & Xray certification required Good computer skills required Please include references in order to be considered for a position.
