Sterile Processing Technologist Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technologist is responsible for ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and properly stored to maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients. They play a crucial role in preventing infections and ensuring the efficiency of healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Inspect and clean medical instruments and equipment 2. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment 3. Assemble instrument trays and sets 4. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes 5. Follow infection control policies and procedures 6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure proper instrument availability 7. Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed 8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives 9. Adhere to safety protocols at all times 10. Assist in training new staff members

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Certification as a Sterile Processing Technologist (CST) preferred 3. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment 4.
