STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll manage, clean, and assemble surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for patient care. + High School diploma or GED required + Completion of a Surgical Tech or Sterile Processing Tech program + •CSPDT/CRCST
certificationREQUIRED
•+ Have 1 to 2 years of experience in a surgical environment + Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows) + Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills + Commitment to following safety protocols and departmental proceduresBENEFITS

+ Manage, receive, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment + Assemble case carts accurately based on doctor's preference cards + Operate washer/decontaminator, sonic cleaner, compressed air, and dryer units properly + Disassemble, mechanically clean, and hand-wash instruments, including heat/fluid sensitive items + Sort instruments into specialty trays and verify counts using count sheets + Prepare utensils and package instruments safely, ensuring sterility + Understand and monitor sterilizers (Steam, Sterrad, Steris System 1) and validate sterilization parameters + Use biological indicators correctly and document quality control results + Maintain knowledge of physician preferences, supply locations, and surgical terminology + Support staff as preceptor, assist others, prepare end-of-shift reports, and identify ways to reduce waste + Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocols + Perform other duties as assigned Background Screening Requirement (Florida): This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law (Section 435.12).
