Job Description

Overview Atlanta Spine Surgery Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise ensures the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. In this vital role, you will be responsible for processing, sterilizing, and managing surgical instruments and equipment to uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly impact the efficiency of surgical procedures and overall healthcare delivery. Duties Receive, inspect, and sort used surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet cleanliness standards before processing Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer-disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols Maintain accurate inventory management by tracking instrument sets, supplies, and sterilization cycles using our ASC management systems Prepare instruments for sterilization by disassembling complex devices, verifying proper functioning, and assembling instrument trays for surgeries Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and medical terminology standards to prevent contamination during processing Document all sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, and inventory movements meticulously for compliance audits Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for upcoming procedures Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment with a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately handle specialized surgical instruments and understand their functions Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies efficiently and prevent shortages or overstocking Demonstrated ability to follow aseptic techniques rigorously to maintain infection control standards Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge to identify appropriate instrument handling and troubleshooting Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting Join us in delivering exceptional patient care through your expertise in sterile processing!
