About the Role As a Sterile Processing Tech II, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing medical instruments and supplies for patient care. You will play a vital role in infection control and patient safety by ensuring all equipment meets the highest industry standards.
        Key Responsibilities:
          Decontamination & Sterilization:
          Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment per AAMI standards.
            Instrument Preparation:
            Inspect, assemble, and wrap surgical trays and equipment for use.
              Inventory Management:
              Maintain supply levels and ensure timely distribution to patient care areas.
                Equipment Handling:
                Operate specialized medical sterilization equipment safely and efficiently.
                • Patient Support (Cedar Falls location only): Transport patients and assist nursing staff with pre-operative procedures. What You Need to Succeed
                Education:
                High school diploma or GED required. Specialized training in sterile processing preferred.
                  Experience:
                  Minimum 6 months of experience working with surgical instruments or patient care support.
                    Skills & Knowledge:
                    Familiarity with medical terminology and sterilization techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize urgent requests. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
                      Certifications:
                      Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
                      • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs; push/pull up to 150 lbs.
                      • Exposure to sterilization equipment, potential infectious materials, and a high-paced hospital setting.
                      • Must be comfortable working under pressure and following strict safety protocols.
