Operating Room/ Ambulatory Clinic Liaison CMC Sterilization Ltd Chicago, IL Job Details Full-time $52,737 - $70,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Qualifications Teamwork OR experience Process improvement High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Data collection Full Job Description Position Overview The OR & Ambulatory Clinic Instrument Liaison serves as the primary point of contact between the Operating Room (OR), ambulatory clinics, and the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) . The role focuses on improving communication, ensuring instrument availability, and identifying process improvements related to surgical and procedural instrumentation. Key Responsibilities Act as the liaison between OR/clinic staff, physicians, and SPD to resolve instrumentation issues. Identify communication or workflow gaps between departments and recommend improvements. Attend daily huddles and review surgical/procedural schedules to determine instrument needs. Verify that required trays and instruments are available prior to procedures. Conduct audits related to instrument delivery, tray quality, post-case returns, and bioburden . Validate preference cards and ensure instrument sets are accurate and complete. Assist in establishing inventory needs based on procedure schedules. Provide daily feedback to SPD leadership on operational issues. Support data collection and reporting for quality, infection control, and KPI tracking . Assist with instrument tracking, repairs, and staff education on proper instrument handling. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) . Minimum two years of sterile processing or surgical instrumentation experience . Experience in surgical services, case cart management, or ambulatory clinics preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Knowledge of sterile processing workflows and surgical instrumentation. Ability to collect data and support operational reporting.
