Responsibilities Properly clean, disinfect, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices according to established protocols. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels. Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring all items are properly stored and readily available for clinical use. Apply aseptic techniques during handling and processing of sterile items to prevent contamination. Verify medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to identify appropriate instruments for various procedures. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilization equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly. Skills Strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and infection control practices. Proficiency in inventory management to track supplies efficiently and prevent shortages. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately identify surgical instruments and their uses. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures and instrument handling.
