Sterile Processing Technician I Brigham and Women's Hospital United States, Massachusetts, Boston 75 Francis Street (Show on map) Apr 24, 2026
Summary:
Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization and regulatory requirements. Does this position require Patient Care? No
Essential Functions:
  • Processes specialty and general instruments.
  • Resets instrument sets without error.
  • Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure.
  • Maintain Central Sterile Department stock levels.
  • Prepares and assembles surgical tray and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
  • Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST]
  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred Experience related experience 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of case cart assembly.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
