Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise will ensure the safety and readiness of surgical instruments and medical equipment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sterilizing, disinfecting, and maintaining a wide array of surgical tools to support patient care and uphold the highest standards of infection control. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills in sterile processing within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Duties Receive, inspect, and sort surgical instruments and medical devices according to established protocols Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying machines to ensure proper sterilization cycles Maintain accurate inventory management by tracking supplies, instruments, and sterilized items using designated systems Disassemble, clean, and reassemble complex surgical tools following strict aseptic techniques and safety standards Document sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and quality control checks meticulously Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all instruments are prepared and available for upcoming procedures Follow detailed procedures based on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology principles to handle specialized equipment properly Skills Strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and aseptic techniques Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately handle specialized surgical instruments Proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and sterilized items Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while maintaining high standards of infection control Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in documentation and process adherence Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a meaningful impact on patient safety through meticulous instrument processing.
