Barclay Surgery Center is a specialty ambulatory surgery center in Rochester Hills, MI, focused on pain management and neurosurgery. We are a two-OR facility with a collaborative, close-knit team where your contributions are visible and valued every day. Monday-Friday schedule — no nights, weekends, or holidays Variety in your daily work — equal time in the OR and sterile processing High-acuity specialty cases in a focused, efficient outpatient setting Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician/Surgical Technologist to fill a dual-role, full-time position (Monday-Friday). This role splits responsibilities equally between scrubbing surgical cases in the OR and managing instrument decontamination, sterilization, and processing in SPD. The ideal candidate brings proficiency in both disciplines and thrives in an environment that demands precision, accountability, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Surgical Technology Scrub surgical cases across pain management and neurosurgery specialties Prepare the sterile field and ensure all instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and ready prior to incision Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently throughout the procedure Perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse per facility protocol Assist with room setup, breakdown, and turnover between cases Sterile Processing Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments per manufacturer instructions and

standards Operate and document sterilization equipment including autoclaves and monitoring systems Maintain accurate instrument tray records and identify damaged or missing items for repair or replacement Manage loaner instrument sets including coordination with vendor representatives Ensure SPD inventory is stocked and organized; communicate supply needs to leadership Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical tech or SPD program graduate preferred CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) and/or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification preferred; candidates actively working toward certification considered Minimum 1-2 years of experience in surgical technology, sterile processing, or both Familiarity with spine, pain management, or neurosurgery instrumentation a plus Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling, and sterilization methods Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Compensation Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and certifications.
