Pay Range $20.80•$31.20 Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT)•Join a High-Impact Surgical Support Team Improving Patient Safety Make a meaningful difference behind the scenes by ensuring surgical teams have safe, sterile, and reliable instruments. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a vital role in infection prevention and surgical excellence—working with advanced sterilization technology in a collaborative hospital environment. Essential Functions Adhere to hospital standards, fostering a cooperative work environment through effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using approved methods and specialized equipment Inspect reusable instruments and equipment to ensure proper function and safety Sort, assemble, and prepare surgical instrument sets and case carts accurately Operate sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, washer sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners) to produce sterile products and reduce infection risk Ensure consistent availability of sterilization supplies and preparation solutions Perform daily testing and monitoring of autoclaves and Steris units using biological indicators and air removal test kits; maintain accurate logs and records Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and competency with evolving sterilization practices and equipment Provide age/developmentally appropriate care per established guidelines for populations served Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Previous sterile processing or surgical services experience preferred (if applicable) Licensure / Certification Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required Skills & Qualifications Ability to operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves (flash and high-vacuum), washer sterilizers, and ultrasonic cleaners Working knowledge of basic and specialty operating room instrumentation Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clinical staff Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically active work High attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety Our Commitment to
