Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full Time Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in patient care. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This flexible, per diem position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while honing your skills in sterile processing and inventory management. Duties Receive, inspect, and sort used surgical instruments and medical devices to identify cleaning needs and potential damages Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying machines following strict protocols Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and documentation Follow aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control standards during all processing procedures Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for upcoming procedures Perform routine quality checks on sterilized items to verify proper sterilization cycles and safety standards Document all processing activities meticulously, including cleaning, sterilization, and distribution logs Qualifications Prior experience ( at least 1 year) or training in sterile processing or medical equipment reprocessing preferred Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand the use and handling of various surgical instruments Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures and instrument identification Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during processing Ability to manage inventory efficiently using tracking systems or manual logs Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety and compliance standards Effective communication skills to coordinate with clinical staff and team members Join us in delivering safe, high-quality patient care through meticulous sterile processing!
