The Sterile Processing Technologist is responsible for ensuring that medical equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and maintained for use in healthcare settings. They play a critical role in preventing infections and maintaining the safety of patients and healthcare staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical equipment and instruments 2. Inspect equipment for damage or wear 3. Assemble instrument trays and surgical kits 4. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves 5. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes 6. Follow strict protocols and guidelines to ensure sterility 7. Collaborate with healthcare providers to meet their equipment needs 8. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in sterile processing
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent Certification in sterile processing (e.g.
CRCST, CSPDT
