Full-time benefits Description Launch Your Career in Healthcare as a Sterile Processing Apprentice! PeaceHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Apprentice for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position . The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $19.62 - $29.44. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Job Summary The Sterile Processing apprenticeship provides an occupational training program in the arena of Central Service/Sterile Processing & Distribution (CS/SPD). This apprenticeship program is designed to develop useful job skills for individuals interested in the sterile processing occupation by combining on-the-job work experience with technical/classroom study. Apprentices will achieve a validated, industry-recognized certification based on education, experience, and successful completion of the apprenticeship and written exam. This apprenticeship provides pathways to an industry-recognized credential: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST®).This pathway includes education and training in the preparation, sterilization, installation, or cleaning of laboratory or health care equipment. Major knowledge domains include cleaning, decontamination, and disinfection; preparation and packaging; the sterilization process; document and record maintenance; customer relations; sterile storage and inventory management; and patient care equipment.In addition to the technical content, elements of a successful worker including oral and written communication, work ethic, working appropriately with others to accomplish tasks, creating effective teams, problem solving when general procedures do not work, self-directed life-long learning, critical thinking to seek the right solution, and interpersonal skills are part of the work-based learning model. Essential Functions Responsible for the coordination and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases. Cleans, decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instruments and supplies. Operates, tests and documents a variety of equipment. Cleans and maintains department equipment. Gives and receives constructive feedback to improve performance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification per related instruction program requirements Credentials The CRCST credential requires a minimum of 400 hours of experience and passing an exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions. For more information on the exam, please refer to the candidate handbook on the HSPA website. Skills Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required) Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication. (Required) Ability to manage multiple requests and meet time sensitive deadlines. (Required) Must be able to manage conflict effectively and professionally. (Required) Good customer service skills. (Required) Working Conditions Lifting Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.Child Care Attendant:
