PM Monday-Friday What We're Looking For:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience:
One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
What You'll Do:
Under the direction of Registered Nursing, the sterile processing technician is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, assembling, inventory, and sterilizing surgical instrumentation. Work performed aligns with establish guidelines, medical facility policies, as well as local, state, and federal requirements. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed
