Job Description

Job Description:
Carries out current infection control policies and procedures pertaining to disinfections/sterilization of Respiratory Care equipment. Conducts daily equipment rounds, inventory, disassembles and assembles ventilators, replenishes oxygen cylinders, stocks crash carts and stations. Uses guidelines and procedures to clean, perform light maintenance, set up, and test a variety of types of respiratory care equipment. Is responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies/equipment within the department and various clinical units. Able to interpret output from the department''s automatic supply dispensing system (Pyxis) and to use such documentation to replenish supplies as needed.
Required Skills:
1. Knowledgeable of infection control policies and procedures pertaining to disinfections/sterilization. 2. Must be able to read and follow instructions written in English. 3. Must have ability to organize and prioritize work- flow. 4. Must be able to differentiate and assemble a variety of Respiratory Care equipment.
Required Experience:
A.
Work Experience:
One year of experience cleaning or maintaining hospital equipment preferred. B.
License/Registration/Certification:
CPR Certified or acquired within three months of being in the position. C.
Education and Training:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
