Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of infection control and supporting surgical teams with essential sterile supplies. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and operational excellence. Duties Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and equipment following strict aseptic techniques. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all tools meet safety and quality standards before use. Manage inventory levels by accurately tracking supplies, ordering replacements, and organizing sterilized items for easy access. Document sterilization cycles, maintenance logs, and equipment checks to ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare sterile packages tailored to specific procedures and patient needs. Adhere to all safety protocols related to handling biohazardous materials and maintaining a sterile environment. Assist in training new team members on sterilization procedures and proper handling of medical instruments. Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of sterilization techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to understand the function and importance of various medical instruments. Familiarity with medical terminology used in surgical environments for accurate documentation and communication. Ability to perform inventory management efficiently, tracking supplies accurately to prevent shortages or overstocking. Skilled in aseptic technique to prevent contamination during instrument processing and handling. Strong attention to detail to identify potential issues with instruments or sterilization cycles promptly. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
