Sterile Processing Technician-Intermediate (ASC KSP)

Job Description Under general supervision, responsible for sterilizing and decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment for use in the procedure rooms and throughout the clinics. Responsibilities Sterilizes and gives routine care to clinical instruments, supplies and equipment. Sets up instrument trays for treatments and ensures standard trays are ready for use. Assembles surgical carts; tracks and maintains the total inventory of instruments, disposables, and implants. Performs preventive maintenance on clinic handpieces and other clinic equipment. Ensures proper utilization and compliance with clinic, equipment loan policies; follows up on loaned equipment. Assists with developing and implementing procedures and policies related to sterile processing. Makes recommendations to manager regarding tray setups, handpieces and equipment. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Possesses basic computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint). Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi task without losing efficiency and quality of work. Ability to think critically in situations where speed and sustained attention are important. Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic with a variety of personalities. Ability to work with a variety of patients including physically and medically compromised patients.
