From $18.00 per hour

Job Description Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support a leading healthcare organization in San Antonio, TX. This role plays a critical part in patient safety by ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use in clinical procedures. Key Responsibilities Decontamination & Cleaning:
Perform thorough decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain washers, disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and autoclaves while monitoring/documenting sterilization cycles.
Inspection & Assembly:
Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality; assemble, package, wrap, and label surgical instrument trays according to established guidelines.
Inventory & Compliance:
Monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate records of processing activities, and ensure proper sterile storage to prevent contamination.
Team Collaboration:
Follow strict infection control protocols and collaborate with surgical teams and clinical staff to ensure instruments are available when needed.
Requirements & Qualifications Certification:
Active Sterile Processing Certification required (CRCST or CBSPD).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with instrument tracking systems preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity to handle delicate instruments; ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as necessary.
