- As a
- Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician
- , you will be an invaluable safety expert and trusted leader on our team.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- + Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care + Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards + Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure + Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time + Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high-quality environment where teamwork thrives •
Essential Job Functions:

- What qualifications you will need:
- Education
- : ALL of the following: 1) High School Diploma or GED 2) New hires as of 01/01/2013 must have ONE of the following: -A. Graduate of a formal sterile processing technology program -B. Graduate of a formal surgical technologist program C. Three (3) years of experience in a sterile processing technician role OR surgical technologist role.
- Experience
- : + New hires as of 01/01/2013 must have three (3) years experience in a sterile processing technician role AND/OR surgical technologist role. + Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
- Preferred
- : + Graduate of accredited Sterile Processing Program or Surgical Technology program
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
- Effective 01/01/2013: ONE of the following: + Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (formerly
NICHSPDP
). + Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service material Management Current SPD Supervisors have until 12/01/2013 to obtain certification.- Benefits
