POSITION
Sterile Processing Technician

WORK HOURS
40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) - Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, and sterilizing equipment, supplies, and/or instruments. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for helping to maintain instrument supply inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

NOT LIMITED TO
): Cleans, disinfects, assembles, and sterilizes equipment, supplies, and/or instrumentation according to manufacturer's instructions for use. Keeps required records such as sterilization logs and loaner tray/instrumentation tracking. Works closely with the Nurse Administrator, OR Coordinator, and Charge Nurse to ensure availability of instrumentation for surgical cases. Performs required environmental and/or equipment maintenance. Performs other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED
Must be able to prioritize workloads. Must be able to organize instrumentation in correct trays. Works well with others and independently.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Certification preferred, but not required. One-year previous sterilization experience required. Experience with sterilization of orthopedic instrumentation preferred.
