Surgical First Assistant

Per Diem First Assist - Plastic Surgery North Star Plastic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Per Diem First Assist to join our surgical team. We are open to qualified candidates who are:

• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA)
• Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)
• Physician Assistant (PA) This position supports plastic surgery procedures in a hospital-based setting and is ideal for a surgical professional who values precision, teamwork, and exceptional patient care. Position Details

Position Type:

Per Diem

Schedule:

Typically one surgery day per week, most often Tuesdays

Hours:

Approximately 4-8 hours per surgery day

Compensation:

Hourly pay, based on experience and credentials

• Provide first assist services during plastic surgery procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and support a safe operative environment
• Assist with exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, wound closure, and other intraoperative duties within scope of practice
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and surgical technologists
• Ensure high standards of patient care and surgical excellence Qualifications
• Current certification/licensure as a CSFA, RNFA, or PA
• Current BLS certification
• Operating room experience required
• First assist experience preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment Newly certified first assists are encouraged to apply.
