Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a crucial surgical support role assisting operating room teams in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract opportunity seeks motivated professionals skilled in perioperative care and surgical technology. You'll play an essential part in supporting patient safety and ensuring smooth surgical processes alongside experienced perioperative staff.
Schedule/Hours:
Shifts according to surgical case needs, including some evenings or weekends based on team coverage.
Qualifications:
Experience as an OR Nurse (ORT), Surgical Technologist (certified or non-certified) in a hospital or surgical center Current BLS certification required Knowledge of sterile techniques, instrument handling, and surgical procedures Adaptability to evolving clinical priorities and excellent interpersonal skills Ability to function effectively in high-intensity environments and follow surgeon directions accurately Strong documentation and teamwork capabilities Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety protocols
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms and ensure availability of instruments and supplies Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during various surgical procedures Maintain sterile fields and enforce infection control standards Conduct instrument counts and support equipment set-up and turnover between cases Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative needs as directed Accurately document surgical procedures and supply usage Participate in perioperative communication, safety huddles, and quality improvement processes
