Job Description

Job Summary The Surgical Scrub Technician plays a vital role within our surgical team, providing essential support during surgical procedures while helping maintain efficient clinical flow throughout the practice. This position requires a detail-oriented, adaptable individual who is proficient in maintaining a sterile environment, supporting patient care, and assisting the clinical team across both surgical and outpatient settings. While this role is primarily focused on scrub technician responsibilities within the operating room, our team operates with an "all hands on deck" approach. The ideal candidate will be comfortable assisting with surgical consultations, pre-operative appointments, patient flow, and additional clinical support duties as appropriate and needed. The Surgical Scrub Technician will work closely with surgeons, nurses, providers, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience and efficient daily operations within both the surgical suite and clinic environment. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, implants, and other materials as needed Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and infection prevention Assist with operating room setup, turnover, and breakdown following procedures Monitor and anticipate surgical team needs during procedures to promote efficiency and workflow Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in accordance with accreditation and regulatory standards Assist with inventory organization, stocking, and supply management for surgical and clinical areas Support patient care before, during, and after procedures while maintaining professionalism and patient comfort Assist with surgical consultations and pre-operative appointments, including patient preparation, documentation support, photography, room turnover, and clinical flow assistance Help facilitate efficient patient movement and communication throughout the clinic and surgical schedule Collaborate closely with providers, nursing staff, patient coordinators, and administrative team members to maintain smooth daily operations Accurately document and collect procedural data as required for medical records and quality assurance Provide additional clinical support duties as needed within the scope of the role and practice operations Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation, suturing materials, and operating room procedures Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and adapt within a fast-paced surgical and clinical environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment Experience in hospital medicine, cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, or ambulatory surgery center settings preferred Experience assisting with patient flow, consultations, or clinical support responsibilities is beneficial Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, organized, and team-oriented with a strong commitment to patient care and surgical excellence.
