About Oath Mesa Surgical Center Oath Mesa is a growing, physician-partnered ambulatory surgery center built around a simple idea — that focused, well-run surgical environments produce better outcomes, better experiences, and better careers for the people who work in them. We are expanding our clinical teams and looking for skilled surgical professionals who want to be part of something that is growing. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Certified First Assistant to join our OR team on a per diem basis. You will work alongside talented surgeon partners across a broad range of specialties in a high-quality, focused surgical environment. This is an ideal opportunity for a surgical assistant who wants flexible per diem hours, consistent surgical volume, and a team that values your expertise and professionalism. What You Will Do Provide skilled first assist services across surgical specialties including orthopedics, spine, general surgery, gynecology, urogynecology, plastics, and other specialties as assigned Assist the surgeon throughout all phases of the procedure — retraction, tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure — as directed and within scope of practice Maintain current knowledge of surgical techniques, instruments, and technology relevant to assigned service lines Collaborate effectively with the circulating nurse, scrub technologist, anesthesia team, and surgeon to maintain OR efficiency and patient safety Adhere to all sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety protocols Complete accurate and timely documentation of first assist activities in the patient record Participate in pre-operative case preparation and post-operative patient care as applicable Maintain required certifications, continuing education, and credentialing documentation What You Bring Current certification:
NCFA, CF-C, CRNFA
Current RN licensure in Arizona is CRNFA Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified First Assistant in an OR or ASC setting — required Experience across multiple surgical specialties strongly preferred; orthopedics, spine, or GYN experience a plus BLS required Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instrumentation, and technique across assigned service lines Excellent communication and professional interpersonal skills Why Oath Mesa?
