Ophthalmic Assistant / Lead Technician (Surgical-Focused) Arora Eye Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Full-time $28 - $31 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Uniform allowance Qualifications Medical equipment operation Ophthalmology Medical scheduling Clinical documentation Operating medical imaging equipment Patient interaction Medical imaging Full Job Description We are a high-growth ophthalmology practice seeking a highly skilled and confident Ophthalmic Assistant / Lead Technician to support a new provider and assist with surgical coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership position, takes ownership of their work, and maintains a high standard of professionalism and patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient workups, including: Visual acuity, IOP, and full ophthalmic workup Refraction (manual proficiency required) Goldmann Applanation Tonometry Assist with cataract evaluations , including: Biometry measurements Diagnostic imaging and testing Operate and manage advanced diagnostic equipment: OCT Pentacam Clarus fundus imaging Perform immersion A-scan accurately and independently Support and coordinate surgical cases: Assist with scheduling and surgical workflow Ensure all pre-op testing and documentation are complete Serve as Lead Technician for a new provider: Maintain efficient patient flow Set the standard for clinical excellence and team support Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of ophthalmology experience (required) COA or COT (preferred) Strong proficiency in Refraction Goldmann tonometry Cataract workups and diagnostics Experience with biometry and immersion A-scan (required) Familiarity with OCT, Pentacam, and Clarus imaging Surgical coordination experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and lead by example What We're Looking For Reliability is non-negotiable — consistent attendance and strong work ethic Professional appearance and grooming — must represent the high standard of our practice Confident, proactive, and solutions-oriented Strong communication and patient interaction skills Ability to stay organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment If you're experienced, confident, and ready to step into a leadership role within ophthalmology, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay:
$28.00 - $31.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
