- PRN Job Summary Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our accredited office based plastic surgery practice.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe surgical environment, assisting with patient care and supporting the surgeon during a variety of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains excellent sterile technique, works well in a fast-paced team environment and committed to exceptional patient care and safety. Duties/Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgery procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique and preserve the sterile field throughout the procedures. Assist the surgeon during a variety of plastic surgery procedures. Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Perform surgical room turnover between cases. Clean, disinfect, and maintain operating room equipment according to facility protocols. Clean, decontaminate, inspect, package and sterilize surgical instruments. Assist with inventory management and stocking surgical supplies. Support pre-operative and post-operative patient care as directed. Ensure compliance with Quad A accreditation standards, infection prevention protocols and facility policies. Qualifications Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant, Surgical Technologist, or Operating Room Assistant required. Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices. Experience assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room setting. Ability to clean, process and sterilize surgical instruments. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced surgical environment.
