Experienced Oral Surgery Assistant - DC Licensed Capitol Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery | Washington, DC Take your dental assisting career into oral surgery. Capitol Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery is seeking an experienced, DC-licensed Dental Assistant with a strong oral surgery background to join our surgical team. This role is ideal for a confident assistant who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and enjoys working closely with an oral surgeon to deliver excellent patient care. Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the following: Chairside assisting during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implants, bone grafting, and sedation cases Preparing and breaking down surgical trays and operatories Assisting with patient monitoring during IV sedation Maintaining sterilization and infection control protocols Supporting patients pre-op and post-op with clear communication and compassion Taking dental radiographs and assisting with digital imaging Keeping surgical days efficient, organized, and patient-focused
Qualifications:
You will be required to possess the following: Active Washington, DC Dental Assistant license (required) Minimum 1 year of oral surgery assisting experience (required) CPR/BLS certification Experience working in a surgical or sedation environment Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm in fast-paced settings Reliable, professional, and team-focused Preferred but not required DAANCE certification Specialty dental or oral surgery background
