About the Job MedStar Health has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor Perioperative Supply Chain, who oversees Procedural Area Materials Technicians and is responsible for supervising all OR related ordering and stocking activities and shift activities of the Perioperative Supply Chain in support of the daily Operating Room surgical schedule. 3-4 years of healthcare supply chain experience and 1-2 years of leadership experience required.

Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and leadership for Perioperative Supply Chain operations during assigned shifts ensuring efficient accurate and timely support of surgical services. Serve as the primary liaison between Operating Room (OR) staff Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and Supply Chain teams; proactively monitor OR schedule changes (room assignments procedure updates and add-ons) to ensure appropriate resource allocation and case readiness. Act as the escalation point for case-related supply and instrumentation issues; lead real-time problem resolution and ensure clear effective communication with all stakeholders. Supervise coach and evaluate Procedural Area Materials Technicians; monitor workflow productivity and quality to ensure performance standards are consistently met. Ensure efficient management of unused OR supplies including timely returns restocking and accurate inventory to minimize waste and control costs. Drive compliance with departmental policies procedures quality standards safety protocols and all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements. Support departmental performance goals by analyzing workflow identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency. Lead onboarding training and ongoing development of staff; ensure completion of required competencies certifications and continuing education. Foster a culture of accountability teamwork and continuous improvement aligned with organizational values and patient care excellence. Minimal Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Associate's degree Health Care Administration or Business Management preferred Experience 3-4 years Progressive healthcare experience in a surgical setting or supply chain environment specific to the surgical procedures. required 1-2 years Leadership experience required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of a surgical environment surgical procedure terminology surgical supplies and their usage Working knowledge of various surgical instrument inventory tracking software Experience with computerized inventory management systems This position has a hiring range of USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,836.00 /Yr.Qualifications:
