  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team.
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and efficient workflow. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your knowledge of advanced imaging and infection control protocols, will help deliver top-tier care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a patient-focused environment. Two years experience is preferred. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with aseptic technique standards. Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix, to ensure accurate documentation of procedures, vital signs, and patient histories. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation securely. Perform chairside assisting with a focus on infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to support safe surgical environments. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Support the dental receptionist team by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain sterilization standards for all instruments and workspaces to uphold infection control practices across the clinic. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners with proficiency. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is required, with a focus on surgical assistance preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology is essential for accurate documentation. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques is crucial for maintaining a sterile environment during surgeries. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus, demonstrating ability to work effectively with children. Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is required; additional certifications in medical imaging or 3D scanning are advantageous.
