Surgical Dental Assistant

PERIODONTAL SURGICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Blue Sky Dental Group is seeking an experienced Surgical Dental Assistant with a strong background in periodontal procedures to join our growing team in Jacksonville, FL. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, patient, and highly organized assistant who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and understands the importance of precise documentation—especially when working with VA patients . Key Responsibilities Assist the doctor during periodontal surgical procedures , including pre-op and post-op support Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, and materials according to infection control and safety standards Manage and complete extensive VA-related paperwork and documentation accurately and timely Maintain clear, thorough clinical notes and assist with charting Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures, post-operative care, and instructions Support normal day-to-day dental assistant duties, including sterilization, room turnover, and patient flow Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure a smooth patient experience Required Qualifications Previous periodontal surgical assisting experience (required) Knowledge and comfort with detailed documentation and compliance requirements Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely Excellent communication skills —both verbal and written High level of patience , professionalism, and reliability Ability to multitask and remain calm in a surgical setting Preferred Qualifications Experience working with VA patients or in practices with heavy documentation requirements Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records What We Offer Supportive and team-focused work environment Opportunity to work in a specialty-focused surgical setting Competitive compensation based on experience Equal Opportunity Employer Blue Sky Dental Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. Pay:

$26.00 - $29.00 per hour
