Pre-Operative Coordinator Harmony Lux Wellness Center Miami Lakes, FL Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Pre-Operative Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that every cosmetic surgery patient is fully prepared for their scheduled procedure. This role coordinates all pre-operative requirements, including laboratory testing, medical clearances, patient education, chart preparation, and communication between the patient, surgeon, anesthesia team, and operative manager. The Pre-Op Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an efficient surgical schedule. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate all pre-operative requirements for surgical patients from booking through the day of surgery. Schedule and track required laboratory testing, diagnostic studies, EKGs, imaging, and specialist consultations as indicated. Obtain and verify medical clearances from primary care physicians and specialists. Review laboratory results and notify the surgeon and operative manager of any abnormal findings requiring follow-up. Ensure all pre-operative documentation is complete, accurate, and signed prior to surgery. Prepare and organize patient surgical charts for surgeon review and surgical clearance. Confirm informed consents, history and physical examinations, medication lists, allergies, and required documentation are complete. Communicate directly with patients regarding outstanding requirements, surgery preparation instructions, and deadlines. Provide patients with pre-operative education, including NPO instructions, medication guidance, arrival times, and post-operative expectations. Collaborate closely with the Operative Manager to maintain an efficient surgical schedule and identify any cases at risk of cancellation. Work hand-in-hand with the surgeon to ensure all patients are medically optimized and approved for surgery. Coordinate with anesthesia providers regarding patient medical history and clearance requirements. Monitor surgery readiness and proactively resolve deficiencies before the scheduled procedure date. Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Ensure compliance with
HIPAA, OSHA, AAAASF/JCAHO
(if applicable), and all clinical policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cancellations and improving patient satisfaction. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred. Medical Assistant, Surgical Coordinator, or equivalent healthcare experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical practice, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or ambulatory surgery center preferred. Strong understanding of pre-operative workflows, laboratory requirements, and medical clearance processes. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple patients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and patient service skills. Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
