Assists with cleaning, restocking and processing of the surgical suite, instruments and equipment as needed. Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Serves as a clinical preceptor for new OR scrub tech, and OR technician students and serves as a resource person. Provides direct assistance to transplant surgeon during organ procurement operations at donor hospitals. Maintains direct contact with TGH OR staff coordinating recipient activities and OR readiness. Maintains direct contact and assists with coordination duties with TGH lung and heart transplant coordinators. Maintains direct contact with and assists with coordination activities with the organ procurement organization (OPO). Arranges and assists with coordination of transplant team transportation at the donor hospital. Assists with transporting donor organs. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
