In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for our patients. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your knowledge of surgical protocols and infection control, will contribute to delivering top-tier care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by preparing and organizing instruments, materials, and supplies for each case Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays, including 3D scans Manage patient preparation by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring patient comfort before procedures Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental Support the dental team with administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties when necessary, managing appointments and patient flow Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions related to their treatment plans Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry to assist effectively during complex procedures Requirements Proven experience as a surgical dental assistant with a strong background in general dentistry and specialized fields like pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics Extensive knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines, medical imaging devices, and 3D scanners Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and providing support during complex surgeries Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and educate patients clearly Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation standards relevant to dental surgery cases Join us if you're passionate about advancing your career in a vibrant practice that values expertise, teamwork, and exceptional patient care.
