Surgery Veterinary Technician True.

Vet Heartland is looking for a Surgery Veterinary Technician who wants to be part of a team that is building something different. This role is ideal for a technician who loves surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, patient care, and being part of a fast-moving hospital where the team is trusted to use their skills. We are looking for someone who takes pride in high-quality medicine, clear communication, strong organization, and calm execution in the operating room. At True.

Surgery is a major part of that vision. We are not looking for someone who simply "helps in surgery." We are looking for a technician who wants to own the surgery flow, protect the patient experience, support the doctor, and help build a surgical department that can scale. Responsibilities The Surgery Veterinary Technician will assist with surgical and dental procedures from start to finish, including: Preparing patients for surgery and dentistry Placing IV catheters Running pre-anesthetic diagnostics Calculating and administering medications under veterinary direction Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthetic patients Maintaining accurate anesthetic records Assisting during soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, dentistry, and urgent procedures Preparing surgical packs, instruments, and equipment Maintaining sterile technique and surgical suite readiness Taking dental radiographs and assisting with dental cleanings and extractions Communicating with the veterinarian about patient status and anesthetic concerns Supporting client communication before and after procedures Helping create and improve surgery protocols, checklists, and workflows Keeping the surgery area clean, stocked, organized, and ready for the next case What We Are Looking For The right candidate is confident, calm, detail-oriented, and serious about patient safety. Strong anesthesia monitoring skills Comfort with surgical preparation and recovery Interest in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic procedures Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patient Excellent communication with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client concierge team members Strong attention to detail A team-first attitude Willingness to learn, teach, and help build better systems Ability to stay calm during urgent or high-pressure situations Pride in creating a smooth, safe, and efficient surgery experience Why Join True.

Requirements:
Prior veterinary technician or assistant experience required Surgical and anesthesia experience strongly preferred CVT preferred but not required Dentistry experience preferred Orthopedic surgery experience is a plus, but not required Must be comfortable with technology and electronic medical records Must be able to lift, restrain, and assist with patients safely Must be dependable, professional, and aligned with a high-standard team culture
